A double-height formal living room conceived as the calm, confident heart of a signature Al Barari villa. A floating curved sectional in soft bouclé anchors the room over a hand-knotted rug, framed by full-height book-matched marble and warm timber fluting. A linear crystal chandelier draws the eye up, while concealed cove lighting and a discreet media wall keep the space uncluttered and serene.
The Challenge
The reception is generous in volume but needed to feel intimate and liveable for a large family — never cavernous or hotel-like. Sightlines from the entrance, dining, and garden all converge here, so every surface is on show from multiple angles.
The Solution
We anchored the seating with a low, sculptural sofa and layered a soft, tonal palette of cream, taupe, and warm bronze. Full-height stone and timber give the walls weight and rhythm, a bespoke lighting rig adds evening drama, and every service — speakers, AC, blinds — is fully integrated so the architecture reads clean from every angle.
